LESSON 1

QCG 520- CLASSROOM AND FIELD APROACHES TO THE TEACHING AND ASSESMENT OF GEOGRAPHY

PRE-Lesson 1:

Knowing that MC is an interesting lecturer, I guessed lesson in that map room woulnt be the same :p Basically know I will enjoy myself. In fact I enjoy most classes. Really.

L1 Proper:

The long intro plus get to know one another session was truly different from the usual 'intro-for-the-sake-of-intro' kind.
As teachers I think we ought to know that sincerity to students is like sensing fear to dogs.
Lesson Point: BE SINCERELY INTERESTED IN YOUR STUDENTS, THEY KNOW IT.

Hence we truly got to know each other better, broke the ice (think there wasn't any to break in the first place, since MC himself was icebreaker personified!) and ended class early!

POST L1 Reflections on EXPECTIONS of…

Course: I hope to learn both content and context in teaching.
How to make students interested in the subject.
Creative ways in teaching.
Love Geography more.

Myself: Absorb and digest what was gone through and put them to practise.
Be a good student by paying attention, being participative and submitting assigned work.

Course-mates: Everyone to be involved in the discussion and teamwork in assignments and helping each other in their work

Tutor: Facilitating learning, clarifying our doubts, answering our queries, having engaged learning and being a role-model to us J

So far the lessons have exceeded my expectations J Need I say more.
